In 2000, James McGaugh - a neurobiologist at University of California, Irvine - met a woman who claimed she couldn't forget. After years of tests and studies, researchers determined that she had a memory unlike anything science had ever documented.
This is the story of the first ever diagnosis of "Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory" (HSAM for short). It's an extremely rare memory ability that has some viewing it as a gift, and others a curse.
