EP. 1 : THE PEOPLE WHO CAN'T FORGET

What if you could remember every day of your life just like it was yesterday?

In 2000, James McGaugh - a neurobiologist at University of California, Irvine - met a woman who claimed she couldn't forget.  After years of tests and studies, researchers determined that she had a memory unlike anything science had ever documented.

This is the story of the first ever diagnosis of "Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory" (HSAM for short).  It's an extremely rare memory ability that has some viewing it as a gift, and others a curse.

Featuring interviews with: Dr. James McGaugh, Bob Petrella, Dr. Mike Yassa, Dr. Lawrence Patihis, and Dr. Daniel Greenberg.

EP. 2 : BUILDING THE FIRST TIME MACHINE

Sure, we've all fantasized about building a time machine.

But for University of Connecticut Physicist Ronald Mallett, that fantasy may be on its way to becoming a reality.  Dr. Mallett has spent much of his life obsessed with the idea of time travel, going so far as to build a prototype device that could theoretically create loops in spacetime.  In this episode we explore the scientific and philosophical quandries behind such a machine actually working.  It's the story of when science fiction tries to become science fact.

EP. 3 : THE SECRETS OF NOSTALGIA

For decades, scientists have puzzled over the true nature of nostalgia.

Why exactly do humans long for the past?  We interviewed psychologists from all over the world who are making surprising discoveries in nostalgia research.  In this episode we explore the historical origins and on-going mysteries of our sometimes haunting homesickness for the good ol' days.  From being first diagnosed as a form of depression to a marketing strategy in the 60's to an integral part of psychological well-being, you'll never feel nostalgic the same way again.
